How much will a new bathroom cost in the UK in 2026?
A new bathroom in 2026 starts from £4,500 for a refresh, from £7,000 for a full refit, and from £8,500 for a wet room. Those are the figures we work to across South East and South West London, from Crystal Palace and Bromley over to Battersea and Clapham, and they match what we publish on our service pages.
Four things move the price from those floors. Size first, because more wall and floor means more tiling days. Layout second, and it is the big one: keep the bath, basin and WC where they are and the plumbing stays simple, move the WC and the soil pipe moves too. Third is spec, since large-format tiles, patterned designs and high-end brassware all add buying cost and fitting time. Fourth is extras. Underfloor heating and a microcement finish both add materials and days on site, and we price those at the survey rather than off a rate card.
Be wary of any figure given over the phone or off a photo. Every bathroom we price gets a free site visit first, because a 1930s semi in Beckenham and an ex-rental flat in Balham with the same size bathroom can carry very different jobs behind the tiles. After the visit you get a fixed written quote, and the price we quote is the price you pay.
