Bathroom Renovations That Actually Work

Battersea bathrooms have a specific problem: they’re usually small, awkwardly shaped, and haven’t been touched since the 1980s. We fix that.

Most Battersea homes—whether you’re in a Victorian terrace near Clapham Junction or a mansion block off Battersea Park Road—share the same issue. The bathroom was an afterthought when the house was built. A cramped box wedged into whatever space was left over.

A proper renovation changes everything. Not just new tiles and a fresh coat of paint, but rethinking how the space works. Moving the toilet so you can actually open the door. Fitting a walk-in shower where the bath used to be. Making a room you currently tolerate into one you actually enjoy using.

We’ve renovated bathrooms across Battersea for years. From the period conversions around Northcote Road to the newer developments near Battersea Power Station. Every project gets the same approach: figure out what you actually need, work out what’s possible in the space you have, then build it properly.

What We Do

Full Bathroom Renovations

Strip out the old bathroom completely and start fresh. We handle plumbing, electrics, waterproofing, tiling, and installation. You get a brand new bathroom without coordinating multiple trades yourself.

En-Suite Bathrooms

Add a bathroom to your bedroom, loft conversion, or that unused box room. We’ll figure out the drainage, run the plumbing, and install everything to Building Regs standard.

Wet Room Conversions

Level-access showers with proper waterproof tanking throughout. Good for accessibility, good for smaller spaces, and good for that modern look if that’s what you’re after.

Downstairs Cloakrooms

Add a WC under the stairs or convert part of a utility room. Takes pressure off the family bathroom and adds value to the house. We can fit them into surprisingly tight spaces.

"Our bathroom was stuck in the 1970s! Avocado suite, mouldy grout, the lot. Joel and his team completely transformed it in just under three weeks. They were tidy, showed up when they said they would, and the quality of the tiling is genuinely impressive. Would recommend without hesitation."

How It Works

From first conversation to finished bathroom, here’s what to expect.

  • We Visit Your Bathroom

A site visit takes about 45 minutes. We'll measure up, discuss what you want, and talk through what's realistic for your space and budget. No pressure, no sales pitch.

  • You Get a Detailed Quote

Within a week, you'll receive an itemised quote covering everything: labour, materials, fixtures. No "provisional sums" or vague allowances that balloon later.

  • We Schedule the Work

Once you're happy to proceed, we agree a start date and timeline. Most renovations take 2-4 weeks depending on complexity. We'll confirm which days we need access.

  • Your New Bathroom

We hand over a finished bathroom with all relevant certificates. Electrical work is certified by our NICEIC approved electricians. If anything needs attention, we come back and fix it.

Common Questions

Most renovations take 2-4 weeks. We’ll discuss temporary arrangements during your consultation—if you have a second bathroom, that’s usually fine. For single-bathroom households, we can sometimes phase the work to maintain access to essential facilities, though this depends on the scope.

Either way works. Some clients prefer to choose everything themselves—tiles, toilet, basin, taps—and we install what they provide. Others prefer us to source materials, which we’re happy to do. We’ll advise on what works and what to avoid.

Usually, yes. Repositioning fixtures requires moving drainage and waste pipes, which adds to the job, but it’s often worth it for a better layout. We’ll assess what’s possible during the site visit—sometimes the existing soil stack position limits options.

Older Battersea properties often have lead pipes, outdated waste systems, or dodgy electrics that need upgrading. We’ll flag anything concerning during the survey and include necessary upgrades in the quote. Better to know upfront than discover mid-project.

We’re based in South East London and work across Battersea, Clapham, Wandsworth, Balham, Brixton, and surrounding areas. If you’re unsure whether we cover your location, just ask when you request a quote.

Working in Battersea

Battersea has changed enormously over the past decade—cranes everywhere, new developments going up, the Northern Line extension finally open. But most of the housing stock is still Victorian terraces and Edwardian mansion blocks that need sensitive handling.

We’ve worked on bathrooms across the area: the period conversions around Lavender Hill, the mansion blocks off Battersea Park Road, the cottages near the common, the newer flats by the river. Each type has its quirks.

Victorian houses often have bathrooms that were added as an afterthought—awkward shapes, low ceilings, pipes that run in unexpected places. Mansion blocks sometimes have shared drainage that affects what you can do. We know what to look for and what questions to ask the freeholder before starting work.

Parking is a pain, we know. We sort out permits where needed and try to keep disruption to neighbours minimal. Small things, but they matter when you’re living in the house during the work.
